A New Thesis on Streetart

I had blogged previously about Thesis - a graffiti artist who has an incredible and distinctive style. I was driving past the Commons Skatepark and noticed a new piece - and sure enough - it was a Thesis piece.

I had a similar experience while going through an art gallery earlier this summer. A painting caught my eye - and I said "This is by Thesis" "No", I was told, it was by a particular artist.

His stuff is spectacular - both the art and the graffiti - show check it out! You can argue all you want about whether or not graffiti is art - but not in this case - it is! Maybe there are others in town who can turn a pastime into a career ($750 a piece!!!)

Has anyone else seen any Thesis around Halifax? (or the HRM to be politically correct)

name dropping=not cool

It's not name dropping - it's promoting his excellent art, done under his name (and done with his OK)

i have seen a few old thesis works around the north end and a really old one near the rotary. and of course the commissioned mural beside CDPlus. the one you show is the newest and only recent one - he did that this summer and it is good to see that it inspired some more work at the skate park.

thesis is showing alot in various galleries around, and it is true that the connection from his wall work and gallery work would not be hard to figure out. but i hope you asked him personally if he minded havingit right up front on yr post. i have sent him the link so he can check out yr site.

keep up the good work.

Yes, I did ask his OK to post this. I recognize that some people wouldn't want their name associated with their work for obvious reasons.

I had given him the blog URL before, but don't know if he has visited...

The old one near the rotary is great - some day, if I get ahold of a crane and a flatbed truck...
